A Delaware judge just overruled a supermajority of shareholders who own Tesla and who voted twice to pay @elonmusk what he’s worth. The court’s decision is wrong, and we’re going to appeal.This ruling, if not overturned, means that judges and plaintiffs’ lawyers run Delaware companies rather than their rightful owners – the shareholders.
Let me keep it simple to explain how crazy this is. 1/ you put everything you earned to start a company2/ the investors/owners create a comp package and majority agree that ONLY if you create $X amount of value within 10 yrs, you’ll be compensated $Y3/ however, if you do not create $X amount of value, you get paid NOTHING, literally $04/ you work your ass off and create $X amount of value within 4 years5/ a judge rejects the comp package saying it was not fair6/ the investors/owners re-vote for a second time to re-instate the comp package for you to get paid and majority vote that you should be compensated $Y7/ same judge rejects it again, saying it is not fair8/ you are getting paid nothing for your honest, hard work (as of now…)Is it just me, or does this sound absolutely ridiculous? Does this make you want to start a company in the US? This is literally what’s happening to Elon Musk at Tesla right now!
